Content & Takedown Policy
Last updated 8 October 2026
ANILUME turns videos that people upload into animated versions. This page explains what you may and may not animate, how to tell us about a problem, and what we do about it. It sits alongside our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
1. What ANILUME is for
ANILUME is for animating footage you own or have permission to use, such as your own videos, footage you commissioned, or footage you have a licence for. Your original performance, movement and sound stay in the result, so the people in your video are still the people in your animation.
2. What you must not animate
- Other people's films, shows, music videos or footage that you don't have the right to use or adapt, including clips ripped from streaming services, television, cinema or other creators' channels.
- People who haven't agreed. Don't animate recognisable people to mislead others, to make it look as if they said or did something they didn't, or to harass, embarrass, defraud or impersonate them.
- Children in any way that is sexual, exploitative or inappropriate. This is never allowed and we report it to the authorities.
- Sexually explicit content, graphic violence, hate, terrorism or content promoting self-harm, and anything else illegal in the UK.
- Footage filmed without people's knowledge in private places, or footage of people being abused or harassed.
- Material you don't have the right to use, including other people's music, logos, artwork or characters, where you plan to publish the result.
You confirm your right to use each video every time you upload one. Uploading something you don't have the right to use is a breach of our Terms.
3. Being open about AI
Animations made with ANILUME are generated with AI. If you publish one, please say so where the platform, your client or the law asks for it, and don't present an animated version of a real person as unaltered footage.
4. Reporting a video or a concern
If you think something made or stored with ANILUME breaks this policy, or you are in a video and didn't agree to it, email hello@anilume.io with the subject "Content report" and include:
- your name and how to contact you;
- where you saw the content (a link, or the name of the file and the date, if you know them);
- what the problem is: for example, "this is my copyrighted work", "I appear in this video and didn't agree", or "this shows a child in an unsafe way";
- if you are reporting a copyright problem, what you own and how the content copies or uses it;
- a statement that the information you've given is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
If a child is at risk or you think a crime is being committed, contact the police (999 in an emergency) or the relevant reporting service as well. Don't wait for us.
5. What we do
- We review every report and aim to reply within 2 working days. Reports about children or immediate harm are handled first.
- If the report looks well founded, we may remove or disable the content, stop the render, and restrict the account while we look into it. We may keep a copy of the content and the report where the law requires or where it's needed to deal with a legal claim or an investigation.
- We tell the account holder what was reported and what we did, unless the law or safety reasons mean we shouldn't.
- We report illegal content to the authorities where we are required to, or where we think it is right to do so.
- Repeat or serious breaches lead to the account being suspended or closed. Credits may not be refunded where an account is closed for breaching these rules.
6. If your content was removed
If you think we removed something by mistake, email hello@anilume.io with the subject "Content appeal" and explain why. For example, you may own the footage or have permission from the people in it. We will look again and tell you the outcome.
7. Safety checks and limits
The AI tools we use apply their own safety filters and may refuse footage. We may also decline or stop a render that appears to break this policy. We can't check every upload by hand, so we rely on the confirmations you give us and on reports from others.
8. Changes
We may update this policy as the service grows. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.
